of Missouri City

Giving Back to Community

The Exchange Club of Missouri City is honoring its deceased members with a Memorial Scholarship. The club is associated with The National Exchange Club, a civic organization that has three major areas of service: Americanism, Youth Support, and Community Service, with a national goal of educating our citizens about child abuse.

Qualifications

Our scholarship candidates should be community service-minded individuals. They should have participated in activities that contribute to the betterment of our community. Many of the following activities would make for an ideal recipient: Boy and Girl Scout participation; church, Bible School and summer camp counselors; blood donors or blood drive volunteers; participant in a community park and roads clean-up day; volunteer at a food bank or community re-sale shop; youth sports coach or assistant; participant in church, synagogue, or temple mission trips; after school program volunteer; student tutor; participate in charity fun runs, walks, or other funds raising activities.

All activities supporting the application are to be outside of school. Other activities not listed above will be considered.

Application Process: The applicant must write an essay on what community service means to them, the importance of giving back to their community, and how they have
contributed. Participation in each activity or event must be verified in writing by an adult sponsor.
